Mission and objectives

The mission of SETIS is to cultivate on the one hand the affective and professional links between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Iaşi and its graduates in order to increase the efficiency of the faculty activities and, on the other hand, among the graduates in order to facilitate professional and social links between them.

SETIS will support the organization various actions and activities compatible with its Statute and complying with Romanian law, with the approval of the Board of Directors.

According to SETIS Statute, the association has the following objectives:

(1) attracting for becoming members of a significant part of the graduates of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, located in the country or abroad;

(2) the organization of a regularly updated database, with the possibility to directly access the Internet on the SETIS site, in relation to its members, thus facilitating both-way communication;

(3) involvement in the reform process of technical education in Romania through the organization of dialogue groups, round tables, colloquia, conferences, symposia and other forms of debate focused on the adaptation of the university strategy and curricula to the needs of Romanian society;

(4) informing the members of the association on the continuous education courses organized in the faculty and in the "GheorgheAsachi" Technical University in Iasi, for professional development;

(5) initiating and supporting actions to increase the professional performance of its members by participating in professional competitions, symposiums, local, national or international scientific sessions;

(6) the entrepreneurial orientation of electrotechnical education for integration with the business environment;

(7) supporting the organization of anniversary events of graduates' promotions by using the Association's database and providing the framework;

(8) promoting the image of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in the country and abroad, for the recruitment of candidates for admission to college;

(9) involvement in raising the level of training and orientation in the job market for the students of the faculty through:
a) assistance in organizing students' production practice over the years of study and in the preparation of diploma projects;
b) organizing, in collaboration, visits to specialized industrial units, conferences of the specialists in the faculty amphitheaters;
c) stimulating the award of scholarships by economic agents interested in recruiting for the employment of some students and new graduates of the faculty;
d) organizing actions to capitalize on the original creation of professors, students and graduates;

(10) reduced tariffs for SETIS members on the services offered by "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University: scientific events, library, admission exams, publications, tickets to the shows organized by the university, special rates for accommodation in the university premises during holidays and the like;

(11) the publishing of the SETIS Bulletin to present achievements of its members, professors of the Faculty, students, evidence from the history of the faculty (photos, memories, moments from the life of the graduates and professors in different periods), news about the graduates in country and abroad;
